Wilderness management volunteers
Working Abroad is an independent organisation based in the United Kingdom. The Environment Agency has been working in partnership with Working Abroad since 2004 and together we have developed a series of wilderness management projects for volunteers.
These special two-week wilderness management projects focus on practical conservation tasks and hiking trail repairs in Þórmörk. Volunteers stay in tents in these areas and work closely with wardens and local staff. Projects are managed by Environment Agency volunteer team leaders.
